Cardmatch Memory Experiment Game

About

This game is a jk-digital.com reincarnation of the age-old tile-matching game you may remember playing as a child. Thus the term 'game' is used quite loosely. Click on a card to turn it over, then click on its twin. If you miss, you'll have a couple of seconds to memorise their positions before they flip back over. Match up all the pairs to complete the game, as quickly and accurately as you can!

Enabled JavaScript and the Flash Player are required to run the 'game'.

The experiment?

When you play the game, you'll be randomly assigned a tile set and your results will be recorded to a sort of high-score list. One tile set features colour clip art images, the other abstract shapes. As more results are collected I'll be able to determine which set is better processed by our short-term memory. I have a feeling I know which it'll be, but let's just wait and see. No personal information is stored, and it's all completely anonymous.

Here are some of the raw results collected so far, which will update dynamically:

Abstract version played 60 times.
Average score: 88
Average # of clicks: 49

Pictorial version played 66 times.
Average score: 91
Average # of clicks: 44
